## You need

- Hermes Agent with MCP support
- A LotsInvoice API key
- A LotsInvoice account. You can create one during sign-in.

## Connect Hermes Agent to LotsInvoice

1. **Add the HTTP server.** Merge this server into mcp_servers in ~/.hermes/config.yaml. Store LOTSINVOICE_API_KEY privately in ~/.hermes/.env; Hermes resolves the environment reference when it connects. Create the key at https://www.lotstech.com/api.

2. **Restart Hermes.** Restart your Hermes session to load the server and its tools.

3. **Check the tools.** Ask your agent “Show me what needs attention in my LotsInvoice business” before asking it to change anything.

### How do I connect Hermes Agent to LotsInvoice?

Follow the Hermes Agent setup above to add https://api.lotsinvoice.com/mcp. Configure your LotsInvoice API key using the credential settings shown. Then ask “Show me what needs attention in my LotsInvoice business”.

### Why does Hermes need an API key for LotsInvoice?

Hermes connects with a Bearer header, so it uses a LotsInvoice API key instead of the browser sign-in. Create one at https://www.lotstech.com/api and keep it in ~/.hermes/.env, never in the config file.

### Do I need an API key to use LotsInvoice with Hermes Agent?

Yes. Create one at https://www.lotstech.com/api and keep it out of chats, logs and committed files. Where Hermes Agent offers sign-in, use that instead.

### What does LotsInvoice cost?

### Will my agent email my customers without asking me?

Every invoice starts as a draft, and nothing reaches your customer until it is sent. Sending is its own step, and the LotsInvoice tools and skill tell your agent to show you the totals and ask before it sends. You can also open the draft in your dashboard first.

### Does LotsInvoice take or move money through my agent?

No. LotsInvoice never holds or moves your money. Your customers pay you directly with the payment options you set up, and your agent can record a payment once you have received it.

### Can my agent change an invoice I already sent?

A sent invoice is locked with its number. Your agent can revise it with a reason, which keeps the number and adds a version, or void it. A paid invoice is corrected with a credit note.

### Does my agent choose my tax rates?

No. It uses the taxes you have set up or the rates you give it, and it asks for anything that is missing. Check your layout and tax wording with your accountant.

### LotsInvoice tools are not available

Check that LotsInvoice is enabled for this session and authentication has completed. Reload the connection or start a new session to refresh its tools.
