What Paperclip can do with LotsInvoice

Once connected, Paperclip can:

The LotsInvoice dashboard does the whole job on its own: invoices, estimates, customers, payments, reminders and reports. Every invoice your agent drafts shows up there, where you can check the PDF preview before you send it.

You need

Connect Paperclip to LotsInvoice

  1. Create the LotsInvoice connection

In your company’s Tools & Access, create a LotsInvoice application and a remote HTTP connection. Use the hosted MCP URL below.

    https://api.lotsinvoice.com/mcp
  2. Store the key as a secret

Create a key at https://www.lotstech.com/api and save it as a Paperclip company secret. Attach a credential reference to the connection: header Authorization, prefix Bearer followed by a space. Keep the key out of plain connection configuration.

  3. Check the connection and load its tools

Run the connection health check and refresh its tool catalog. Enable the connection, review the discovered tools and approve the actions you want your agent to perform.

  4. Assign access to your agent

Create a tool profile containing the LotsInvoice tools you need and bind it to the responsible agent. Ask that agent “Show me what needs attention in my LotsInvoice business” before giving it real work.

Check the connection is enabled, its tool catalog is refreshed, the required tools are allowed in a profile and that profile is bound to your agent.

Paperclip and LotsInvoice: questions

How do I connect Paperclip to LotsInvoice?

Follow the Paperclip setup above to add https://api.lotsinvoice.com/mcp. Configure your LotsInvoice API key using the credential settings shown. Then ask “Show me what needs attention in my LotsInvoice business”.

Does adding Paperclip’s MCP server also add LotsInvoice?

No. The two servers expose different tools. LotsInvoice must be connected to the agent runtime or called through its REST API.

Do I need an API key to use LotsInvoice with Paperclip?

Yes. Create one at https://www.lotstech.com/api and keep it out of chats, logs and committed files. Where Paperclip offers sign-in, use that instead.

What does LotsInvoice cost?

Current plans and prices are on https://lotsinvoice.com/pricing. Your agent’s own plan or usage fees are separate.

Will my agent email my customers without asking me?

Every invoice starts as a draft, and nothing reaches your customer until it is sent. Sending is its own step, and the LotsInvoice tools and skill tell your agent to show you the totals and ask before it sends. You can also open the draft in your dashboard first.

Does LotsInvoice take or move money through my agent?

No. LotsInvoice never holds or moves your money. Your customers pay you directly with the payment options you set up, and your agent can record a payment once you have received it.

Can my agent change an invoice I already sent?

A sent invoice is locked with its number. Your agent can revise it with a reason, which keeps the number and adds a version, or void it. A paid invoice is corrected with a credit note.

Does my agent choose my tax rates?

No. It uses the taxes you have set up or the rates you give it, and it asks for anything that is missing. Check your layout and tax wording with your accountant.

My agent cannot see LotsInvoice tools

Check the connection is enabled, its tool catalog is refreshed, the required tools are allowed in a profile and that profile is bound to your agent.
